Our policy on collecting and using your information
If you look at information on our website, we won’t know about it. We don’t put cookies on your computer. So we won’t know if a page is popular or not, and we can’t tailor our information for you. If however you would like cookies, you can interact with our website, or look for the Vicar’s secret stash in the vestry.
So if you interact with our website, such as filling in the web form on “contact us” page, cookies will be deployed. We don’t control these cookies: it is done by Google’s reCAPTCHA service, where you have to prove that you are not a robot. You can read more about Google’s policy here.
The same applies if you click on any of the calendars on our website. These are also provided by Google, so if you clicked through the link in the previous paragraph and read the information, you don’t need to do it again now. If you haven’t yet, here it is again.
Facebook - this has a different policy. Here it is.
There could be other cookies used by third party providers. We don’t think there are, but if you are concerned, do keep an eye on your cookies list.
How about my real-life information?
Now we are talking.
From 25 May 2018, the EU’s General Data Protection Regulations come into force. It’s 88 pages of legal jargons so think hard before you decide to read it all. We at St James’ have worked hard to understand what we need to do to keep your personal information safe, and how and when we can tell you about our fun activities (that’s “advertising” in the commercial world). Here are our policy and a consent form if you would like to hear about our fun activities.
